Imai Jinya（脚本・演出・能役者・音楽家）
2021年日本演出者協会優秀演出家賞受賞。シルクロード能楽会代表。
幼少より祖父から能楽を学び、十代で初舞台。その後、国立能楽堂研修生・東京芸術大学音楽学部を卒業、多数の能舞台に出演した後、渡仏し、現代演劇、コンテンポラリーダンス等を学ぶ。
ローカルでグローバルな身体性を内包するパフォーマーとしてフィリップ・デュクフレ、パスカル・ウバン等のフランスの振付家の作品からジェローム・ベル「シャートロジー（ソロ）」「ショーマストゴーオン」、ロンドンのアートユニットサーカムスタンスのコンセプチュアルな舞台作品等に多数出演するほか、国内では、串田和美、加藤直、生田萬、松本修、柴幸雄、白神ももこ、大岡淳、等演出の舞台、珍しいキノコ舞踊団、ニブロール、OM-2、PortB、小池博史BP等の舞台に出演するなど現代劇からコンテンポラリーダンスまで幅広く活躍。シルクロード能楽会をはじめとして様々な団体で、神話や民話を題材として能楽の演出方法も用いた斬新な舞台は多くの評論家の支持を集めている。アウトリーチ活動にも積極的に参加し、障害者の施設や小中高学校でワークショップを実施。新作能の脚本・演出・音楽多数。
2021年公益財団法人東京都歴史文化財団アーツカウンシル東京助成事業にて「バリ姫神話」上演、作・演出・出演、東京芸術文化振興基金助成事業にてりっかりっかフェスタ沖縄正式招待作品「ニライカナイ」作・演出・出演、2019アーツカウンシル東京助成事業にて新作能「道成寺」作・演出、ニューヨークにてコロンビア大学主催公演新作能「輪廻」音楽・演出・出演。2018法隆寺舞台公演「能楽の起源と聖徳太子」をプロデュース・出演、韓国プチョン国際演劇祭にて新作能「BARI2018」作・演出・音楽、2017中之条ビエンナーレパフォーミングアーツディレクター、2016三島由紀夫近代能楽集「葵上」渋谷伝承ホール作演出、2016前橋市「四公祭」アートディレクター、2015瀬戸内国際トリエンナーレ新作能「村上水軍」演出・出演、2014大分ミュージカル「少年遣欧使節団」作演出他。
また、フリーの小鼓演奏家として国内外を問わずジャンルを超越して活躍中。古典からジャズ、現代音楽まで、迫力の肉声と鼓の音色で小鼓演奏のポテンシャルを極限まで追求している。

He learned Noh from his grandfather from an early age and made his debut on stage in his teens. He then became a trainee at the National Noh Theatre and graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts' Faculty of Music, performing in numerous Noh productions before traveling to France to study modern theater and contemporary dance.
As a performer who embraces both local and global physicality, he has appeared in a wide range of works, from French choreographers such as Philippe Decouflé and Pascal Huban, to Jerome Bel's "Shartology (Solo)" and "The Show Must Go On," and conceptual stage works by London art unit Circumstance. In Japan, he has also appeared in stage productions directed by Kazumi Kushida, Nao Kato, Man Ikuta, Osamu Matsumoto, Yukio Shiba, Momoko Shiragami, Jun Ooka, and others, as well as the Strange Kinoko Dance Company, Nibroll, OM-2, PortB, and Hiroshi Koike BP. He is active in a wide range of fields, from modern theater to contemporary dance. His innovative stage productions, which use Nohgaku directing methods and myths and folk tales as themes, have garnered support from many critics, including the Silk Road Nohgaku Association. He also actively participates in outreach activities, conducting workshops at facilities for the disabled and at elementary, junior high, and high schools. He has written, directed, and composed many new Noh plays.
In 2021, he wrote, directed and performed in "The Myth of the Princess of Bali" as part of a grant from the Arts Council Tokyo, a public interest incorporated foundation, and wrote, directed and performed in "Nirai Kanai," an officially invited work at the Rikka Rikka Festa Okinawa as part of a grant from the Tokyo Arts and Culture Promotion Foundation. In 2019, he wrote and directed the new Noh work "Dojoji" as part of a grant from the Arts Council Tokyo, and composed, directed and performed in the new Noh work "Rinne," a performance sponsored by Columbia University in New York. He produced and performed in the 2018 Horyuji Temple stage performance "The Origin of Noh and Prince Shotoku," wrote, directed and composed the new Noh "BARI2018" at the Bucheon International Theater Festival in Korea, was the performing arts director for the 2017 Nakanojo Biennale, wrote and directed the 2016 Mishima Yukio Modern Noh Collection "Lady Aoi" at Shibuya Densho Hall, was the art director for the 2016 Maebashi City "Shiko Festival," directed and performed in the 2015 Setouchi International Triennale new Noh "Murakami Suigun," wrote and directed the 2014 Oita Musical "Young Embassy to Europe," and more.
He is also active as a small drum player, transcending genres both domestically and internationally. From classical to jazz and contemporary music, he pursues the potential of small drum peformance to the limit with his powerful voice and the beautiful sound of the drum.
